Zamioculcas 'Supernova' is a hybridised form of Zamioculcas exhibiting glossy, dark emerald green leaves that resemble feathers growing in a zig-zag formation on stout, study stems. These leaves are much darker than the usual jade of Zamioculcas Zamifolia and less truly black than Zamioculcas Raven.
Although known botanically since 1892, Zamioculcas has only become a popular houseplant for the past 20 or so years, ever since Dutch growers began to cultivate it in 1996. The ZZ is famously low light tolerant. It's the plant we recommend time and time again for those with sunless sitting rooms or basement appartments. That said it will perform best in medium to bright indirect light.
ZZ plants have a tuberous root system which stores water, so it will forgive the forgetful waterer, but for good growth it is best to water regularly, allowing most of the soil to dry completely before watering again.
This plant is excellent at removing airbourne toxins.
