Spider plants are native to Southern and Tropical Africa, where they grow as ground cover on the forest floor. Their tuberous roots mean they can withstand a fair bit of drought (great for the forgetful waterer) and they are low light tolerant too. (Too bright a spot can have the effect of bleaching the leaves and you must never place a spider plant in direct sun)

Perhaps best of all, they are incredibly efficient at removing pollutants from the home. Flowers are white and star shaped and when conditions are optimum they will send out baby plantlets on runners that arch gracefully away from the parent plant.

Easy care and air purifying.
