Native to China and North Vietnam, this low growing foliage begonia has heavily textured, almost furry leaves, the tiny hairs giving rise to a slight redish tinge. Medium light levels are required for best growth and colour, although they can tolerate light shade as well. (Too little light leads to a straggly plant whilst too much leads to yellowing of the leaves)
Take care when watering, Begonia Masoniana has rhizomatous roots that store water, so best practice is to allow some drying of the soil between waterings.
