The variegated shell ginger is so called because of the pearlescence of its waxy, funnel shaped flowers. It is native to the woodlands of Asia and India where it can reach 3 meters tall. It had broad, arching paddle shaped leaves striped with a vivid yellow and leaves can reach 50cm long. Every part of this plant is aromatic.

Keep the soil lightly moist but not waterlogged and place in bright, indirect light, or somewhere where it will receive a little morning sun only.
